Now before you F1 fans out there (who didn't get a ticket) get too jealous of me, I'm just gonna say that the F1 pass above isn't mine. It was my dad's. His company gave him a free pass and he had the chance to go see the Formula One racers in action at the Marina Bay circuit in Singapore. It was only the practice session though. (Yes, you can be jealous of my dad)

I'm not an F1 fan. But I liked the pass and lanyard that they gave so I asked my dad if I could have it. Haha.

The F1 event's a real money-spinner for the organisers... Here's what a couple of drinks cost...

1 (approx. 500ml) cup of
- Mineral Water... $6.00
- Sprite... $8.00
- Beer... $10.00

I'd rather drink my own pee.

On second thought, maybe not...

31.8.2008

I ran the Nike Human Race today with Natalie, Andrea and Alvin today.

Here's what you get when Comex 2008 (Last Day) and Nike Human Race are both situated near City Hall MRT station...

The MRT public announcement system was like going...
"The station is crowded. Please leave the station if you are not taking the train."
Repeated like 10 times yet the crowd stayed put. I was one of those people who didn't budge. lol.

Here's a pic at the start line. When the race started, we were so far behind that we took like 10 minutes to reach the actual start line. lol.

We finished the 10K in like 2 hours. hahaha. Reason being we jogged the first 2K and then walked the rest. And the route wasn't really built for 10,000 people. Very squeezy in the beginning and we were crossing paths with each other.

So at the end of the race we were given this finisher's bracelet which I haven't figured out how to wear yet. Hmmm...

Wake me up when September starts...

08.08.08

I watched a section of the repeat of last night's Beijing Olympics 2008 Opening Ceremony just after I woke up this morning and for some unknown reason, 3 teardrops trickled down my eyes. It happened when I saw one of China's ex-gymnasts, Li Ning, hanging from a harness and running across the walls of the stadium before lighting up the huge Olympic cauldron. I have no idea why I was feeling so emo this morning. But somehow watching the magnificent display that China has put up really moved me. I could just imagine what it must have felt like to be one of the spectators at the Bird's Nest Stadium.

China has really outdone herself this time.
